Automate choppy futures with a strategy built for rotation.
Marty watches for qualified mean-reversion setups, enters when price stretches within suitable range conditions, and manages orders, exits, and the recovery sequence through predefined NinjaTrader 8 rules.

How Marty works
Trade rotation back toward the range, not every move.
Marty is designed for conditions where price stretches away from a reference and rotates back. The selected template defines the setup, filters, order style, exits, and safety limits. The engine waits for a qualified extension, then manages the sequence without exposing proprietary settings.
- 01
Find a qualified extension
Marty waits for price to move away from an active reference and checks whether the selected reversal setup is present.
- 02
Enter toward the mean
Enabled market, momentum, volatility, time, and price-action filters decide whether a mean-reversion entry can proceed.
- 03
Manage the recovery sequence
The strategy handles configured exits, daily controls, and progressive sizing that changes average cost after a loss.
Why traders use it
Repetitive execution becomes a defined process.
Marty handles the mechanical decisions that are easy to second-guess in real time. The value is process consistency: the same qualification, order management, and recovery rules can run without a trader chasing price or improvising after a loss.
Runs the same entry and exit process without hesitation or discretionary chasing
Places strategy-managed stops and targets as part of the automated sequence
Applies time, direction, and setup filters consistently across each session
Creates a repeatable trade record for review, comparison, and controlled adjustment
The recovery profile
Average cost can change after a loss.
If one trade loses, a later qualifying trade can carry more size, changing the sequence's average cost in an attempt to recover that loss. A later winner may offset earlier small losses; that is the intended recovery profile, not an expected outcome.
The same mechanism creates the main risk.
When losses cluster, exposure can rise while conditions are deteriorating. A persistent trend can turn the recovery sequence into a fast, deep drawdown. Recovery sizing never makes a trade safer and must be evaluated as a full sequence, not one entry at a time.
Market fit
Built for chop. Vulnerable to expansion.
Marty makes the most strategic sense in slower, grinding, range-bound sessions. A strong one-way move can keep price away from the mean while recovery exposure rises. It requires active monitoring and defined sequence limits in every market regime.
Better-fit conditions
Slow rotation, contained volatility, stable data, controlled starting size, and an operator prepared to monitor orders and the full recovery sequence.
Poor-fit conditions
Persistent trend, volatility expansion, event-driven gaps, unstable connections, unfamiliar account rules, or sizing that cannot absorb several losses.
A market regime that conflicts with the selected Marty template
Gaps, major news, or abrupt volatility that change fill and slippage behavior
Platform, market-data, VPS, or connection failures during an active sequence
Misconfiguration or oversizing that turns several losses into a rapid recovery cascade

FAQ
Before you enable automation.
Platform, access, evidence, and provider-rule answers for the Marty workflow.
Marty is Pro-only NinjaTrader 8 futures automation designed around mean reversion in slower, choppy, range-bound conditions. It waits for qualified setups, then manages entries, exits, safety controls, and progressive recovery sizing by rule.
Marty waits for price to extend from an active reference, then checks the enabled reversal, direction, momentum, volatility, volume, time, event, and price-action rules. A qualified setup can enter for rotation back toward the range mean. Exact formulas, thresholds, and templates remain proprietary.
After a losing trade, a later qualifying trade can use more size, changing the sequence's average cost in an attempt to recover the prior loss. A later winner may offset earlier small losses, but clustered losses can increase exposure quickly and create deep drawdown. Recovery sizing changes risk; it does not make the sequence safer.
Marty is designed for slower, grinding, range-bound conditions where price repeatedly rotates around a mean. Its main weakness is persistent directional expansion: price can keep moving away while recovery exposure rises. Gaps, major news, poor data, connection failures, misconfiguration, and excessive starting size add separate risk.
You need Pro access, NinjaTrader 8 on a Windows PC or VPS, a working data connection, and enough platform familiarity to install, monitor, and stop an automated strategy. Begin in SIM before considering live or evaluation use.
Compatibility must be checked provider by provider. Prop-firm and broker rules can change, and restrictions may differ by account type. Review the current rules for your specific provider before enabling automation and again before moving beyond SIM.
SIM lets you observe entries, exits, recovery behavior, data, session controls, and emergency-stop procedures without risking capital. It also shows whether the strategy's drawdown profile fits your tolerance. A successful SIM review does not predict future results.
